FAQ’s
I’m happy to answer any questions you may have but these are some of the ones I encounter regularly.
I hope they help, if not just drop me an email or arrange a chat.
What are your payment terms for new websites and website makeovers?
After when you accept the proposal you’ll have the opportunity to select your preferred payment terms. This can be from one payment up to 5 payments an invoice for any remaining balance
What currencies do you accept?
I invoice in Pounds Sterling. I can accept payment via Paypal and Stripe.
Do your prices include VAT?
At this point in time I’m not VAT registered so the price is as published
Do you supply the legal pages?
No. You will need a cookie and privacy policy and also a terms of use page. I would also recommend terms and conditions. There are a number of online sources or you may wish to seek professional advice.
How long does a project take?
Good question, it depends on a number of things. Assuming you are able to supply all information and content on time and there are no extenuating circumstances, the build should be completed and Livve within 4 weeks of the agreed start date. Before we start you’ll be asked for general information, any copy, images and logo/brand information etc. We will schedule the start date at the end of our strategy session.
When can you start on my site and what will you need from me?
This will be dependent on two factors, my diary availability (which is simply a case of asking as it constantly changes) and how long it takes you to complete your preparation work. If you are unable to supply the materials and content required by the provisionally arranged date I will need to progress with another project until you can deliver.
Will I be able to edit my website?
Yes though the ease will depend on the platform but we’ll discuss this at the outset. I will provide you a how to guide for the elements you want to update so you can edit your website content yourself or we can arrange an ongoing support package if you’d prefer to take the helm.
Can you transfer content across from my existing website?
Yes. If you have an existing website with a blog I can transfer this across to your new website. There is a charge per post as generally they require reformatting and SEO optimising.
Any other content that is relevant is always a great starting point so we’ll talk this through.
How does support work after my site is finished?
Every client is different. The beauty of Squarespace is it’s integral award-winning 24/7 technical support and an extensive ‘Knowledge Base’, but I won’t be sending you away empty handed. I’ll supply you with instructions for whatever aspects of the site you want to maintain yourself and I’m only ever an email or phone call away. Using screen share on Zoom is also a great way of guiding you through any queries you may have.
If you want a custom maintenance package let’s chat through what you are looking for. Another beauty of Squarespace is that it keeps everything updated, backed up and on line for you anyway, nothing for you to juggle or worry about.
If you opt for a WordPress website it is more complex to handover without extensive training according to your needs. Access to blogging and any other updates can readily be made accessible.
If you want a custom WordPress maintenance package let’s chat through what you are looking for, alternatively you can book me to work at an hourly rate when the need arises.
Squarespace or WordPress?
They both have pro’s and cons.
I can help you decide on the best option for you. I love and use both.
